Treatment and Therapy - Anti-Seizure Medications

Gabapentin (Neurontin®)

Gabapentin treatment may affect a pathway involving gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical found in the brain. It's unknown how gabapentin works to reduce neuropathic pain, but it seems to be effective for some patients. It is the most frequently prescribed anticonvulsant used to treat pain.
